Assistant Organist and Choirmaster

Scott joined the music staff in 2017 as Assistant Organist and Choirmaster and valiantly stepped in to serve Acting Organist and Choirmaster during the six-month search for a new organist. Now, his primary duties include accompanying the Taylor Choir, assisting Simon during the 10:30 am Sunday service and playing at special events, including Lessons and Carols, Evensongs and Taylor Concerts.

To our community, he brings deep experience in church music as organist, choir master, pipe organ technician, and even church secretary. Since 2005, he’s been vocal music teacher at Mesa Ridge High School in Widefield School District 3. There he holds forth over a program with 165 students and survives three all-girl choirs.

Scott holds degrees in Organ Performance and Church Music from the University of Colorado, Boulder and Arizona State University; he has also held national officer positions in the United Church of Christ Musicians Association and Regional Offices of the American Guild of Organists.
