THE REV. BRENDAN E. WILLIAMS, CSJC
Curate | 719.328.1125 ext 308
Fr. Brendan was called to Grace and St. Stephen’s in 2016. He brings to his role as curate a deep passion for Christian formation, teaching, worship, and spiritual direction rooted in ancient church tradition. His work of contemplative teaching and formation (with community members of all ages), pastoral care, spiritual guidance, and outreach to the greater community is shaped by his conviction that the journey of Christian discipleship is, in its deepest iterations, principally a journey of practice in pursuit of direct, personal experience of the Divine. Fr. Brendan draws daily from a breadth of experiences in the spiritual life, including his ancestral background in Celtic Christian spirituality, and time spent in Eastern Orthodoxy before coming home to the Episcopal Church. He completed his studies for the priesthood at Church Divinity School of the Pacific in the Graduate Theological Union at Berkeley, is founding prior of the dispersed religious order, The Community of St. John Cassian, and co-founder of the international Society for Eastern Rite Anglicanism (SERA). He is a great lover of liturgy, sacred music and folklore, and in his spare time is a devoted hiker and traditional clinical herbalist. He is also a writer, and holds an MFA in poetry from St. Mary’s College of California.
