Meet the Candidates for Vestry

Chad Reynolds, Candidate for Sr Warden

Hello Grace & St. Stephens Parish, my name is Chad Reynolds. I have been serving as your Sr. Warden for 2025. Before that I served on vestry from 2022 to 2024 and have been serving as an usher for the last 10+ years. I am excited to serve alongside Fr. Robert and our wonderful vestry in these exciting times!A little about me. I was born and raised in Central Illinois. I attended Illinois State University and graduated with a degree in Geography with designs of becoming a teacher. But God had other plans for me…so after college I moved to Chicago for work and that is where I eventually met my wife, Kathryn. She grew up here in Colorado Springs and her family was still here, so we decided to move back in 2012. We started attending Grace & St. Stephens shortly thereafter. Kathryn and I have been married for over 16 years, we have 2 amazing and beautiful daughters, Grace (12) and Millie (10) and a Black Lab named “Doc” who is 4 years old. I am employed as a Project Manager / Engineering Consultant for Swagelok, a private U.S. Manufacturing company.

Terry Hensel, Candidate for Jr Warden

Joan and I have been married over 50 years. We raised two sons who are now in their 40s and married. I owned J&I Service Contractors, a commercial mechanical/electrical construction company for 35 years. In 2022, after retirement, Joan and I moved from Atlanta, Georgia to Colorado Springs to be close to Philip and Nicole, and the kids.

I attend the Men’s Bible Study on Saturday mornings, I am in the rotation to stream Sunday morning church service on the internet, I volunteer in the children’s ministry once a month, and I have helped out at several work days at church. I was asked to become the Junior Warden. My career experience equips me for the job. I am willing to serve, and am glad to serve.

Daniel Couch - Candidate for Vestry

I have been a parishioner at Grace & St. Stephens since 2018 with my wife, Sarah, and my daughter, Beatrice. I have lived in Colorado Springs since 2016 and I am currently an Associate Professor of English and Associate Chair of the English Department. This latter position has given me a large amount of insight into administrative hiring, finance management, and vision development. I am currently serving a partial vestry term and in the past have served on a discernment committee. I believe strongly in the transformative, spiritual power of community at Grace & St. Stephen's and hope to do everything I can to help foster it.

Russell Moses - Candidate for Vestry

My wife Heather and I have two dogs, Jack & Poppy, both Pyrenees mixes who love the snow. I work in commercial banking and have been with the bank for 10 years. I currently serve on vestry, altar guild, outreach committee, and finance committee. I have enjoyed serving the last several months on vestry, and would very much like to continue the good work in progress, and to help Grace & St. Stephen’s continue to grow into the beautiful community that I have experienced since arriving in Colorado Springs. Great things are on the horizon, and I would be honored to continue serving.

Benjamin Ramey - Candidate for Vestry

Benjamin Ramey is a father, husband, psychoanalyst in private practice, and psychology instructor. As a parish member of GSS he has attended the last 10 vestry meetings and is currently a member of the assistant rector search committee. He has prior experience serving on church worship committees and now feels called to serve as a steward of the rich heritage of the Episcopal tradition by helping to share in the responsibilities of the GSS vestry.

Ruth Rogerson - Candidate for Vestry

I am a military veteran and work as a pediatric nurse at Children’s Hospital Colorado where I am the cleft lip and palate nurse. I am married to Craig Rogerson, we have two adult children, and I am a life long Episcopalian who has been attending G&SS since we moved to Colorado Springs in 2006. I sing with the Taylor Choir, volunteer with Grace Sowers, serve as a hostess for coffee hour, support IHN, and help make PBJs each month. I am interested in being a member of the vestry as a way to support this amazing community of faith, to show my commitment as a long-time member, and to support our community to continue to grow spiritually. I also wish to further increase my involvement in our church life and to ensure that Grace and Saint Stephen’s is a welcome community to everyone.

Josh Vandiver - Candidate for Vestry

I am fifth-generation Coloradan, born in La Junta, baptized and raised in the United Methodist Church in nearby Swink. After studying and teaching “back East,” I returned to Colorado—along with my spouse Henri—to teach Political Science at UCCS. We fell in love with Grace and St Stephen’s and I was received into The Episcopal Church. Last year, I served on the Rector search committee. I am a Spiritual Life Advisor at CC, where I help coordinate an Episcopal Evening Prayer service for students, and an usher. I feel called to Vestry to support Father and leadership in this exciting new chapter of growth, outreach, and spiritual formation. I am keenly interested in enhancing our welcome to potential parishioners—including online, our digital front door—and supporting ministries for students, families, and all who desire to move more deeply into our “Anglican way” to Jesus.
