Lay Pastoral Care

Love Your Neighbor

The ministry of care —heeding God’s call to tend to those in need whether physical, emotional or spiritual -- is central to our vitality and health as the Body of Christ. Christ’s command to care for the least among us is not the only reason for our care and acts of faith: We are promised new life when we give of ourselves by following Christ and participating in the kingdom of God by serving others.

Praying for and with, visiting, listening, knitting and providing meals are just some of the many ways we care for one another, for family, for neighbors and for strangers.

If you need pastoral care, please contact us the office at (719) 328-1125 and we'll connect you with clergy and lay leaders to minister to your needs.

EMAIL COMMUNITY OF HOPE
DAUGHTERS OF THE KING (DoK)

Our order’s mission is to know Jesus Christ, to make Him known to others, and to become reflections of God’s love throughout the world.

The Angels of Grace Chapter of Daughters of the King fulfills our service to the parish by praying daily for those who request prayer for themselves or others. Submit prayer requests by clicking on the EMAIL DOK button below. All information received is held in the strictest confidentiality.

If you are already a member of a chapter and would like to join us, please contact us via the link below.

If you are interested in becoming a member of Angels of Grace, no special spiritual attributes are needed. Only a desire to draw nearer to God, and to help others do the same.

“Lift high the cross, the love of Christ proclaim!”

EUCHARIST VISITORS

LEVs bring the sacramental presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to members of our parish who cannot come to church at regular service times because of illness or infirmity. They receive training from the Diocese. Before a LEV is assigned to visit, they must undergo a background check and complete The Episcopal Church's Safe Church training on engaging with at-risk and vulnerable populations.

If you are interested in receiving a home visit with Eucharist, please an email our Pastoral Care Team.

If you interested in becoming a licensed Eucharist Visitor, please contact  The Rev. Kris Lewis, deacon.

FOOD AND COMFORT MINISTRY

Providing meals is one very good way we support one another through major life events. Whether an addition to the family, injuries or surgeries, long illnesses, or a death in the family, a meal goes a long way to easing the stress.

To schedule meals delivered to your home or to provide a meal for someone, please contact Emily Rueber, parish administrator.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY
3rd Thursday of the Month, 4-5:30pm
Blaik Library (1st floor of the education wing)

Members of the Prayer Shawl Ministry hand knit or crochet shawls for those in need of healing, strength, comfort, or spiritual sustenance. Shawls provide tangible evidence of God’s love, wrapping the recipient in prayer. The repetitive nature of knitting or crocheting facilitates meditation and prayer in every stitch. Like all giving, it enriches both the giver and the recipient. We can teach you how to knit or crochet and we have a supply of tools and yarns available. Please join us for prayer, cookies, tea, knitting, crocheting and relaxed chatting.
